I trained at Liverpool University in England before undertaking additional tarining in General Practice, qualifying as a GP in 1989. I moved to Australia in 1998 and worked in Townsville, Magnetic Island, Malanda and Ravenshoe before moving to Cairns 7 years ago. I enjoy all aspects of genearl practice, but am particularly interested in women’s heath, antenatal care, mental health and preventative medicine for chronic conditions such as heart disease and osteoporosis.
Dr Mishra is a UK trained General Practitioner with postgraduate qualifications and experience in Diabetes and Endocrinology. He has experience in managing both Types 1 and 2 diabetes besides Pre-diabetes, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disease, menopause, osteoporosis & Vitamin D deficiency and weight management. He runs a bulk billed Diabetes Clinic at Smithfield Central Doctors that liaises closely with a team of dedicated allied health providers. He is passionate about Chronic Disease Management and is also skilled in Occupational Health Issues, Injury management and rehabilitation.
Dr Andrew Fahey trained at the University of Queensland at St Lucia, Brisbane where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Pharmacology, before proceding to complete his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2011. He then moved to Far North Queensland where he has worked at the Cairns Hospital, Mareeba Hospital and Atherton Hospital as well as several local GP practices. He has recently obtained his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practice and has worked at Smithfield Central Doctors since its opening in 2015. He has a special interest in Indigenous Health and Chronic Disease Managment as well as Paediatrics, Men’s Health and Women’s Health.
